1.The framework of SEO is slow paced and hence the results generated also take a fair share of time.SEO involves indexing the content of the websites in order increase its search presence. The indexation process may take several hours or even weeks before they are totally implemented and ready for results.

2.SEO tools may take their time to yield results which may not be profitable for businesses which are seasonal or for businesses which have substantially shorter time to generate revenues. Thus SEO falls back in these types of business models.

3.Though the basic SEO tools are free but these free tools come with limited usability aspect. Thus there should be considerable amount that needs to be spent on implementing these tools, hiring resources and for equating these attributes to profit outcomes.

5.The ever changing search engine rules by Google literally is unpredictable and no one has a control on it. Example in 2011 it came out with “Panda” which has different tackling mechanisms in terms of searching compared to that of “Penguin” released in 2012.This was further out thrown by “Hummingbird” which highlighted the importance of mobile devices search. Thus adding to miseries of SEO experts to redo the SEO framework in accordance of the algorithms adopted by search engines.

While there are two sides of the coin, we can only conclude that organizations have to take the best of both the sides and utilize it in a rational manner. On one side factors like increase in customer base, increase in product reach, knowing customer trends etc. are lucrative for the business but cost effectiveness, time for returns, no guarantee aspects leave the business amidst a sea of doubt in opting for SEO.

So to all my readers, an intelligent decision making and a bold outlook from the business perspective is what is necessary before we decide if SEO is essential or not.
